Conference Focus

The three main areas of the Inflation Reduction Act on which the conference focused are:

Attendees learned about resource opportunities for our county in this landmark legislation and brainstormed ways to collaborate with local governments and community organizations to maximize the benefit for Contra Costa County.

Welcome and Introduction

Contra Costa Community College District Chancellor Mojdeh Mehdizadeh, along with  Supervisor John Gioia and Congressman Mark Desaulnier, welcomed attendees to Diablo Valley College and this landmark gathering. The Inflation Reduction Act presents organizations and agencies with a significant opportunity to secure funding for crucial projects in Contra Costa County. These projects aim to bring us closer to achieving a cleaner, safer, and more equitable environment. During the second panel, the focus was on highlighting ongoing initiatives within the county, serving as a source of inspiration and providing concrete examples of what can be accomplished.

  • How can we form new municipal and public/nonprofit/private partnerships to bring funds to Contra Costa County?
  • How can we collaborate to increase consumer knowledge and demand for electrifying their homes and cars?
