What You Can Do Now: Action to Reduce Emissions in Contra Costa County

Wednesday December 4 is the deadline!

We need your help to clean up the air in the Bay Area! On December 4th, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) will review new rules that will require all water heaters and furnaces to emit zero nitrous oxides (NOx) starting in 2027 and 2029.

Gas appliances are a major source of NOx pollution—worse than gas plants—and hit disadvantaged communities hardest. Electrifying these appliances will boost air quality and protect public health.

Send a message to the BAAQMD Board urging them to support these crucial rules

  • Sign the petition. Send a letter to the BAAQMD Board urging them to support the new air quality rules.
  • Speak up at the meeting. Sign up to give public comment at the Board meeting in support of these critical rules.
  • Join us live. Attend the meeting on Zoom or in person to show your support for cleaner air in the Bay Area.

Together, we can ensure cleaner, healthier air for our communities!
