Return Jovita Mendoza to Brentwood City Council D3

Brentwood City Council District 3 Candidate Jovita Mendoza

Re-elect Jovita Mendoza, a true champion of the community, to the Brentwood City Council District 3. A powerful example of what citizen activism can achieve, Jovita mobilized hundreds of Brentwood residents to successfully halt new oil and gas drilling just 1,000 feet from their homes on county land. This dangerous drilling would have threatened air quality, water safety, and property values.

A Working Mom with a Mission

As a working mom, Jovita understands the urgency of protecting her family’s health. She refused to allow her children to breathe polluted air right outside their door. Jovita has also fought against the renewal of a natural gas pipeline through the city, addressing critical concerns that have gone unheeded.

Expertise and Engagement on the Council

With her background as a data analytics manager, Jovita brings expertise and a hands-on approach to the Brentwood City Council. She is dedicated to ensuring that new developments prioritize community benefits and affordable housing options. Before her council tenure, she played a key role in defeating Measure L, which sought to push Brentwood’s urban limit boundary backward.

Advocating for Renewable Energy

Jovita staunchly opposes the recent reduction in reimbursement rates for solar power, known as NEM 3 (net energy metering). As a council member, she promotes renewable energy and transition to all-electric systems. Jovita declares, “We need to reverse NEM 3 back to NEM 2 to make solar more affordable for everyone and fund solar initiatives for low-income families.”
