We’re very excited to endorse climate champion Lynda Deschambault for East Bay Regional Park District’s Board of Directors! She’s running in EBRPD’s Ward 2, which includes Lamorinda and much of Oakland. Lynda has amazing credentials for this post. An environmental scientist, she’s not only a 20-year veteran of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 9, but also founding director of Contra Costa County’s Climate Leaders (4CL). Lynda has a deep understanding of environmental issues and local climate policy. She has developed greenhouse-gas emissions inventories and drafted climate action plans for 15 cities.
EBRPD is now writing its Second Century Plan, a blueprint to guide agency policy. As a board member, Lynda will help create a comprehensive, forward-looking plan that combines new technologies with the wisdom of Native land stewards. She’ll work to ensure EBRPD has a strong plan for climate resilience and sustainable park operations.
While at USEPA, Lynda worked extensively with underserved communities. At EBRPD, she will emphasize representation and involvement of underserved and low-income communities in shaping the district’s plans. Let’s get Lynda elected! Find out how you can get involved in her campaign.
