We join 350 Bay Area Action in proudly endorsing environmental justice leader Jovanka Beckles for California State Senate District 7. While serving on the Richmond City Council, Jovanka took on Chevron, holding the refinery accountable for its environmental impact. Despite Chevron’s $3 million effort to defeat her and her slate, Jovanka prevailed. Now on the AC Transit Board, she’s working to expand transportation access, while continuing her 23-year career as a mental health specialist and union member for Contra Costa County.
