Devin Murphy has an impressive track record in building a sustainable energy future for Pinole! As the former Mayor of Pinole and a dedicated City Council member for the past four years, he garnered the highest number of votes in Pinole’s history. Devin bridges the gap between the city council and Marin Clean Energy (MCE), an all-green electric provider in the North Bay, while also collaborating with RecycleMore and the Western Contra Costa Transit Authority. Under his leadership, Pinole expanded energy-efficient housing options and veteran housing and successfully reopened Pinole Fire Station 74. Devin’s long-standing commitment to making Pinole a greener place for all shows.

Devin envisions a 100% renewable energy future for Pinole by 2040, with municipal operations achieving this goal by 2030. His plan includes:

• Enhancing Energy Efficiency: Prioritizing energy improvements in city buildings before tackling the infrastructure of Pinole
• Phasing Out Natural Gas: Moving towards cleaner alternatives for all city operations
• Expanding EV Charging Stations: Increasing the availability of electric vehicle charging options throughout the city
• Promoting Gas-Free Public Transit: Advocating for more environmentally friendly public transportation options

Educating for Green Jobs and Environmental Health

Education plays a pivotal role in Devin’s mission. Among the educational programs he advocates: creating job training programs for green energy careers and working with homeowners to adopt sustainable practices. His support for the Constitutional Right to Environmental Health reflects his dedication to protecting the community’s environment and promoting sustainable energy solutions for Pinole.

As a young leader, Devin has actively participated in local politics since high school. During his time at UCLA, he served as Student Body President, promoting voter registration even before he could vote himself. With a strong background in technology, Devin advocates for enhanced IT training as a means to promote economic equality.
