Walnut Creek City Council At-Large Candidate Kevin Wilk

Kevin Wilk is running for re-election to an at-large seat on the Walnut Creek City Council. Over his eight years in office, Kevin has been a leading force in advancing the city’s climate initiatives. He played a key role in securing 100% green energy for city buildings, launching a new electric bus route, and advocating for climate-friendly policies like adding EV charging stations to new developments and expanding infrastructure for biking and walking.

Early in his tenure, Kevin often stood alone in his push for stronger climate action. By 2020, however, the council began to embrace these efforts, paving the way for the implementation of his initiatives. His passion for sustainability has been a defining feature of his public service. Kevin’s leadership extends to numerous boards and committees, including:

  • The Transportation Commission
  • The Central Contra Costa Transit Authority Board of Directors
  • The Marin Clean Energy Board of Directors
  • The Environmental Quality Policy Committee for the League of California Cities

In his next term, Kevin plans to prioritize expanding EV charging infrastructure and transitioning the city’s vehicle fleet to electric.
