We are assembling teams of 2-3 volunteers in each Contra Costa city to combat climate change at the local level. Help us build climate-focused teams in all nineteen cities!

Cities are responsible for about 70 percent of global emissions. With over 80 percent of the U.S. population living in urban areas, focusing on local climate solutions offers both urgency and opportunity to make a real impact where we live and work.

Monitor, Track, and Advocate for Environmental Sustainability

Our teams of 2 to 3 volunteers in each Contra Costa city will monitor, track, report, and advocate for environmental justice and sustainability. Team roles include:

• Monitoring City Council agendas for discussions on
  • Climate
  • Housing
  • Transportation and
  • Land-use policies
• Attending Council meetings to
  • Listen and observe
  • Take notes
  • Speak, when appropriate, and
  • Review minutes afterward
• Tracking Council Sustainability Committees and Planning Commissions for topics on environmental sustainability
• Reporting back to the 350 Contra Costa Action Local Policy Team by
  • Attending monthly meetings and
  • Providing a brief update on significant developments

Your Time Commitment

1–5 hours per month. You control how much time you dedicate!
